These terms govern your use of the Papyra applications and the papyra.site website. By installing or using Papyra, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing or using Papyra, you accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Papyra is an academic reading and research workstation for desktop and mobile. It is local-first: your library and work are stored on your device, and synchronization (optional) is performed through your own Google Drive or OneDrive account. Papyra does not host your content on its own servers.
3. License to use Papyra
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Papyra for your own reading and research. You may not:
- copy, resell, rent or redistribute the software;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code, except where the law expressly permits;
- circumvent license, trial or payment mechanisms;
- use the service to infringe the rights of others.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) and able to enter into a binding agreement. If you use Papyra on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the books, highlights, notes and projects you create or import ("your content"). Papyra claims no ownership over it. You are solely responsible for the files you import and must hold the necessary rights to use them; do not import material that infringes copyright or other rights. Because Papyra does not store your content, you are responsible for your own backups.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Papyra for any unlawful purpose, to distribute malware, to overload third-party services accessed through the app, or to misuse the dictionary, translation or sync integrations in violation of those providers' terms.
7. Subscriptions and payments
- Trial. Papyra offers a 30-day full trial with no card required.
- Pro. After the trial, Pro features require a subscription: US$3.99/month via the app stores, or an annual web plan equivalent to US$3.33/month. Prices may vary by region and are shown at checkout.
- Free after trial. Without Pro you keep read access to content you already created.
- Billing & renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel through your app store account (Google Play) or, for web purchases, through Lemon Squeezy as indicated in your receipt.
- Refunds. Refunds follow the policy of the store or processor used for the purchase.
8. Third-party services
Papyra integrates third-party services (Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Wiktionary, MyMemory, Adapty, Google Play Billing, Lemon Squeezy). Your use of them is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their availability, content or actions.
9. Intellectual property
Papyra, the Papyra name and logo, and the software are owned by Kraken Studio and protected by applicable law. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or software beyond the license above.
10. Availability and warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that synchronization with third-party clouds will always be available or free of conflicts.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kraken Studio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use Papyra. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Termination
You may stop using Papyra at any time and uninstall it. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will remain in effect.
13. Changes to the service and terms
We may modify the service or these terms. Material changes will be posted at papyra.site with a new revision date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of [city, state, Mexico], waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond.

Estos términos rigen el uso de las aplicaciones Papyra y del sitio papyra.site. Al instalar o usar Papyra, los aceptas.

1. Aceptación de estos términos
Al descargar, instalar o usar Papyra, aceptas estos Términos del Servicio y nuestro Aviso de Privacidad. Si no estás de acuerdo, no uses el servicio.
2. El servicio
Papyra es una estación de trabajo académica de lectura e investigación para escritorio y móvil. Es local-first: tu biblioteca y tu trabajo se almacenan en tu dispositivo, y la sincronización (opcional) se realiza a través de tu propia cuenta de Google Drive u OneDrive. Papyra no aloja tu contenido en servidores propios.
3. Licencia de uso de Papyra
Te otorgamos una licencia personal, no exclusiva, intransferible y revocable para usar Papyra en tu propia lectura e investigación. No puedes:
- copiar, revender, rentar ni redistribuir el software;
- realizar ingeniería inversa, descompilar o intentar extraer el código fuente, salvo donde la ley lo permita expresamente;
- eludir los mecanismos de licencia, prueba o pago;
- usar el servicio para infringir los derechos de terceros.
4. Elegibilidad
Debes tener al menos 13 años (o la edad mínima de consentimiento digital en tu país) y capacidad para celebrar un acuerdo vinculante. Si usas Papyra en nombre de una organización, declaras estar autorizado para aceptar estos términos por ella.
5. Tu contenido
Conservas todos los derechos sobre los libros, resaltados, notas y proyectos que creas o importas ("tu contenido"). Papyra no reclama propiedad alguna sobre él. Eres el único responsable de los archivos que importas y debes contar con los derechos necesarios para usarlos; no importes material que infrinja derechos de autor u otros derechos. Como Papyra no almacena tu contenido, eres responsable de tus propios respaldos.
6. Uso aceptable
Te comprometes a no usar Papyra con fines ilícitos, a no distribuir software malicioso, a no sobrecargar los servicios de terceros a los que se accede desde la app, ni a hacer un uso indebido de las integraciones de diccionario, traducción o sincronización en contra de los términos de esos proveedores.
7. Suscripciones y pagos
- Prueba. Papyra ofrece una prueba completa de 30 días sin necesidad de tarjeta.
- Pro. Tras la prueba, las funciones Pro requieren suscripción: US$3.99/mes a través de las tiendas, o un plan anual web equivalente a US$3.33/mes. Los precios pueden variar por región y se muestran al momento de pagar.
- Gratis tras la prueba. Sin Pro conservas acceso de lectura al contenido que ya creaste.
- Cobro y renovación. Las suscripciones se renuevan automáticamente hasta que las canceles. Gestiónalas o cancélalas desde tu cuenta de la tienda (Google Play) o, para compras web, a través de Lemon Squeezy como se indique en tu recibo.
- Reembolsos. Los reembolsos siguen la política de la tienda o procesador utilizado en la compra.
8. Servicios de terceros
Papyra integra servicios de terceros (Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Wiktionary, MyMemory, Adapty, Google Play Billing, Lemon Squeezy). Su uso está sujeto a sus propios términos y políticas. No somos responsables de su disponibilidad, contenido o actuación.
9. Propiedad intelectual
Papyra, el nombre y el logotipo de Papyra, y el software son propiedad de Kraken Studio y están protegidos por la ley aplicable. Estos términos no te otorgan derecho alguno sobre nuestras marcas o software más allá de la licencia anterior.
10. Disponibilidad y garantías
El servicio se proporciona "tal cual" y "según disponibilidad", sin garantías de ningún tipo, expresas o implícitas, incluidas las de comerciabilidad, idoneidad para un fin particular o funcionamiento ininterrumpido o libre de errores. No garantizamos que la sincronización con nubes de terceros esté siempre disponible o libre de conflictos.
11. Limitación de responsabilidad
En la máxima medida permitida por la ley, Kraken Studio no será responsable por daños indirectos, incidentales, especiales o consecuentes, ni por pérdida de datos, derivados del uso o la imposibilidad de uso de Papyra. Nuestra responsabilidad total no excederá el monto que hayas pagado por el servicio en los 12 meses previos a la reclamación.
12. Terminación
Puedes dejar de usar Papyra en cualquier momento y desinstalarla. Podemos suspender o terminar el acceso si incumples estos términos. Las disposiciones que por su naturaleza deban subsistir (propiedad intelectual, exenciones, limitaciones de responsabilidad) permanecerán vigentes.
13. Cambios al servicio y a los términos
Podemos modificar el servicio o estos términos. Los cambios relevantes se publicarán en papyra.site con una nueva fecha de revisión. El uso continuado tras los cambios implica que los aceptas.
14. Ley aplicable
Estos términos se rigen por las leyes de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos. Cualquier controversia se someterá a los tribunales competentes de [ciudad, estado, México], renunciando a cualquier otra jurisdicción que pudiera corresponder.
